How often do classes meet?
Each class meets 1 hour per week.
Can I join mulitple classes?
Yes, but please only do so if you can commit to the classes you join.
Is attendance mandatory?
No. If you are busy on a given week and are unable to attend, please email your instructor in advance.
The registration is closed. Can I request a spot?
If the section is already closed, you may show up to the class without a registration confirmation and ask the instructor if there is space. Please refrain from emailing us as we cannot make a decision regarding the matter.
I never got a confirmation email. Am I still part of the class?
If you were able to register, then consider yourself enrolled. The confirmation email is only a reminder and sent out the DAY BEFORE THE CLASS and NOT RIGHT AFTER YOU REGISTER.
Who are NUCALLS instructors?
They are students themselves who are either international or local. We require our instructors to be completely fluent to teach a level 2 and higher, or advanced to teach a newbie class.
Are your classes open to NU undergraduates only?
No. It is open to the whole NU community as well as students from other schools.

newbie
Designed for those who have zero knowledge in the language. Learn the basics of the language such as the alphabet or writing system, pronunciation, grammar foundation and communication
beginner
Targeted for those who already have a working knowledge on the language and can converse at a very basic level.
intermediate
Students at this level can already hold a decent conversation in a wide variety of topics and have the ability to recognize and correct themselves when speaking.
advance
Tailored for those who wish to brush up or keep up with their language skills; this level emphasizes vocabulary expansion, acquisition of expressions and slang, and conversational competence.
